What is Health Screening?

Health screening involves regular check-ups and tests to detect medical conditions early — often before any symptoms appear. Early detection means more treatment options, better outcomes, and lower long-term healthcare costs.

At Mission (Hougang) Medical Clinic, our doctors provide personalised screening recommendations based on your age, gender, family history, and lifestyle — so you're only tested for what's relevant to you.

We are a participating clinic under the Screen for Life (SFL) programme, which provides subsidised screenings for eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs enrolled in Healthier SG.

What we screen for

Diabetes (blood glucose & HbA1c)
High blood pressure (hypertension)
High cholesterol (lipid panel)
Colorectal cancer (FIT test)
Cervical cancer (Pap smear / HPV test)
Breast cancer (mammogram referral)
Cardiovascular risk assessment
Body weight & BMI assessment

Some tests like fasting blood glucose and lipid panels require 8–10 hours of fasting beforehand. When you book, our staff will advise you on what preparation is needed for your specific tests.
Yes — Singapore Citizens enrolled in Healthier SG with MMC as their preferred clinic are eligible for fully subsidised nationally recommended screenings under the Screen for Life programme.
Bring your NRIC, CHAS card (if applicable), and any previous screening results or medical records you have. If you're enrolled in Healthier SG, your health plan details will be accessible via HealthHub.
